MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Runner Genevieve LaCaze looks set to compete at London after Athletics Australia agreed to extend its Olympic selection cut-off date.

LaCaze missed the AA nomination deadline by barely 24 hours when she beat the Olympic qualifying standard in the 3,000-meter steeplechase while competing for the University of Florida at a meet in Indianapolis on Wednesday.

AA initially turned down her appeal to be included in the squad for London, but reversed that decision Saturday after discussions with Australian Olympic Committee president and LaCaze backer John Coates, saying the deadline would be extended to June 22.
