AP in-house Olympics poet Fred Lief places his Olympic dreams into a realistic context. ___ They rule at these Olympics — The muscled and the sleek. I want them all together In one ideal physique: I want the lungs of Lochte, The neck of Tyson Gay, The arms of German fencers (Foil, saber and epee). The shoulders of Serena, The quads of Usain Bolt, The foot of Abby Wambach Delivering a jolt. Yes, I'd want an archer's eye That steadies bow and mind, Though truth be told at these games One archer's almost blind. The abs of Chinese divers I'd happily endorse. When thinking of my haunches I'd go with Romney's horse. To ride with Chris Hoy's hamstrings Would set myself apart. And, of course, Pistorius: I'd surely take his heart. This need to hone the body Is all becoming clear. I'll have to think this over With chips and pints of beer. ___ — Fred Lief — Twitter http://twitter.com/fredlief ___ EDITOR'S NOTE — "Eyes on London" shows you the Olympics through the eyes of Associated Press journalists across the 2012 Olympic city and around the world.
