WEMBLEY, England (AP) — With Prince William and David Beckham watching, Britain won its first men's soccer match at the London Olympics with a 3-1 victory over the United Arab Emirates on Sunday. Ryan Giggs, playing in his first major tournament, scored the opening goal in the 16th minute to become the oldest goalscorer at the games. Rashed Eisa equalized in front of 82,239 fans at Wembley Stadium, but Scott Sinclair scored in the 73rd and Daniel Sturridge added another in the 76th. Britain now has four points in Group A, the same as Senegal. The UAE is eliminated.
