OK, Rio Olympics tennis fans, here's your Portuguese lesson for the day: "Jogo sospenso" means "match suspended."

A full day of rain at the tennis venue prompted postponements of all 26 matches on Wednesday's original schedule.

Among the players who never had the chance to start swingin' in the rain: 2008 gold medalist Rafael Nadal and 2012 gold medalist Andy Murray.

It meant that Nadal got the day off entirely instead of being busy as can be: The 14-time major champion was supposed to play three times for Spain on Wednesday _ in singles, men's doubles and mixed doubles. Now he's supposed to play that trio of matches Thursday.

Because tennis was not an option, he chose another sort of game. This was posted by Spanish Davis Cup and Fed Cup captain Conchita Martinez on Twitter:

The "good news" for fans who had tennis tickets for Wednesday: They can apply for a refund at the Rio Olympics website.
