Health experts urge WHO to consider moving Rio Olympics

LONDON (AP) — Health experts on Friday urged the World Health Organization to consider whether the Rio de Janeiro Olympics should be postponed or moved because of the Zika outbreak.

The 150 experts — including former White House science adviser Dr. Philip Rubin — issued an open letter to the U.N. health agency, calling for the games to be delayed or relocated "in the name of public health."

Russian riot police halt wrestling brawl over Rio 2016 spot

MOSCOW (AP) — Russian riot police had to be sent into the wrestling ring Friday when a scuffle erupted after a championship bout.

Viktor Lebedev of Russia's northern region of Yakutia beat Ismail Musukayev of Dagestan in an under-57 kilogram semifinal Friday at the competition that decides who represents Russia at the Rio Olympics this summer. The championship was held in Yakutsk, the province's capital.

Britain Olympics Athletics Test

IOC: 23 positives in retests of samples from London Olympics

LONDON (AP) — Nearly two dozen athletes tested positive in reanalysis of their doping samples from the 2012 London Olympics, adding to the more than 30 already caught in retesting from the 2008 Beijing Games.

The International Olympic Committee said Friday that 23 athletes from five sports and six countries had positive findings in retests with improved techniques on 265 samples from the London Games.
