When it comes to skeet, the Italians are becoming hard to beat.

Italy captured both gold medals in men's and women's skeet at the Rio de Janeiro Games, accounting for three of the six medals overall.

Gabriele Rossetti won the men's title at the Olympic Shooting Centre on Saturday, a day after Diana Bacosi and Chiara Caneiro took the top two spots in women's skeet.

"In our country we have so much support and it is showing with the medals we are winning," said Rossetti, who father, Bruno, won skeet bronze at the 1992 Barcelona Games.

Italy didn't fare too bad in the other shotgun events, either.

Giovanni Pellielo captured silver in men's trap and Marco Innocenti earned silver in double trap, giving Italy five of the 12 shotgun medals in Rio. Italy has 11 shotgun medals in the past four Olympics, two golds.
