The U.S. women's team is 1-0 up at half-time in the gold medal match against Japan — and it's been a dramatic 45 minutes of end-to-end action. Carli Lloyd's opened the scoring in the eighth minute of the match, but Japan also has had its chances. Aya Miyama saw a shot crash back off the crossbar in the 33rd minute, and Shinobu Ohno went just wide five minutes later with a right-footed shot from just outside the area. There were also opportunities for Yuki Ogimi. Thursday's match is a repeat of last year's World Cup final. — Joseph White — Twitter http://twitter.com/JGWhiteAP ___ EDITOR'S NOTE — "Eyes on London" shows you the Olympics through the eyes of Associated Press journalists across the 2012 Olympic city and around the world.
