LONDON (AP) — Frank Viola knows a thing or two about competing at the highest levels. After all, he was the MVP of the 1987 World Series. Now, he's taking a break from baseball to watch his daughter compete in her first Olympics. Brittany Viola was to be the first of 26 divers competing in the 10-meter platform preliminaries on Wednesday night at the London Aquatics Centre. The top 18 advance to the semifinals on Thursday. Viola says he's a nervous wreck watching his daughter because he has no control over the outcome, unlike in baseball where he had the ball in his hand and the ability to decide the outcome of a game.
