Since wrestling doesn't start until Sunday, many of you might have forgotten about it. A lot of you might not know much about it in the first place. Here's a quick primer to get you up to speed. There are two styles, Greco-Roman and freestyle. The biggest difference between the two is that legs are off limits in Greco-Roman and legal in freestyle. The periods in each match last two minutes and it's a best-of-three format. If one wrestler wins the first two periods, it's all over. The objective is to pin your opponent by holding their shoulders to the mat. If you can't do that, you can still win by scoring more points. Simple as that. There's at least two gold medal matches each day. The favorites on the men's side are Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan, though Iran is seeking its first gold in Greco-Roman. The U.S. has only one favorite, world champion Jordan Burroughs at 74 kilogram freestyle. Oh, and nobody's going to be flying off the ropes either: Olympic wrestling, unlike its TV counterpart, is real. — Luke Meredith — Twitter http://twitter.com/LukeMeredithAP ___ EDITOR'S NOTE — "Eyes on London" shows you the Olympics through the eyes of Associated Press journalists across the 2012 Olympic city and around the world.
