WEMBLEY, England (AP) — The Americans lead Japan 1-0 after 15 minutes in the women's gold medal soccer game. Carli Lloyd scored in the eighth minute on a header. Tobin Heath fed the ball from the left side into Alex Morgan in the area. Morgan spun around, controlling the ball along the goal line before chipping it toward Abby Wambach. Wambach raised her left foot, but Lloyd rushed in and headed the ball from 6 yards. It was Lloyd's third goal of the tournament. The game is a rematch of last year's World Cup final, won by Japan in a penalty shootout. The Americans are trying to win their fourth Olympic title and third straight. Japan is trying to become the first team to win World Cup and Olympic titles in back-to-back years.
