DeMar DeRozan won the game but missed the shot.
As the U.S. Olympic men's basketball team was beating China 119-62 on Saturday in its opening game, the Americans were awarded a technical foul in the third quarter. DeRozan, an All-Star for the Toronto Raptors, and Chicago's Jimmy Butler decided to determine the shooter with a game of rock, paper, scissors.
Butler was bummed and DeRozan missed the free throw, though by then the game was already decided. The Americans were leading 72-40 at the time.
