The turns at the BMX track for the Summer Olympics are painted a bright green. It's an unusual color for those sections of the course, which are typically black or gray. The bright green is similar to a color used in a logo for the Games. (AP photo/Genaro C. Armas)
They're seeing green at the BMX track, too, at the Summer Olympics.
It's a bit unusual for turns in between the finely-groomed hills on the straights to be painted bright green. They're normally just black or gray.
The green starts at the starting ramp.

Practice began on Monday. The track wasn't tinted bright green during tests in March and October, so for many, Monday was their first time seeing the paint job.

U.S. rider Alise Post said Monday that she had to get used to the sight lines because, in the sun, the bright green might blend in with the grassy-green material covering the areas in between the straights. She says she had to adjust the tint on her goggles.
"Just with the sun it's all very bright. the color of the track, the color of the turns, it's very bright," Post said. "It's an adjustment, but it's OK, it's all right."
Caroline Buchanan of Australia said on Sunday that the course "looked awesome," likening the color scheme to a scene out of the "Mario Kart" video game series.
At least it's not this shade of green ...

That green is gone, though. The green at the BMX track is staying.
