Tuesday kicked off with football 5-a-side at the Olympic tennis Centre -- a soccer game in which all of the players wear blindfolds except for the goalies. The crowd must stay silent so the players can hear the sound made by the ball, which contains a leather rattle so the competitors can gauge speed and velocity while running full speed downfield. Barriers line the side of the pitch to keep the ball in bounds. Late in the day U.S. superstar Tatyana McFadden won her second gold and third medal of the games in the Women's 1500m.
The day also featured an epic bronze medal tennis match that lasted nearly four and a half hours. And in the evening, American women swept the 1500m wheelchair race, with Tatyana McFadden winning another gold medal.
