Buffalo Bills receiver Marquise Goodwin can catch. And he can jump, too.
Goodwin has already been to the Olympics in the long jump. He finished 10th in the field in London.
He was trying to make the U.S. team for the Rio Games on Sunday at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, but fell short, finishing seventh. The top three finishers got spots on the team.
Turns out, he hurt his hamstring the day before. But Goodwin was looking at the bright side.
“Man, I'm blessed. I'm alive. I'm walking. I walked off my myself. Had fun,” he said. “Great competition. That's all I can ask for. At this, all I was expecting was an opportunity. Got everything I asked for, man,” he said.
Now, his focus turns back to football.
“Just a switch. Got to hit it. Hop right back to it, cold turkey. Take maybe a few days off. Get my mind right and start getting ready for football,” he said. “Camp is less than a month away. About 20 days away.”
God made me a winner today; not by winning a medal/ spot to #Rio2016 but by overcoming my fear of losing. Thank You Lord for opportunity
