The real world can wait a little longer for Maya DiRado.
The four-time medalist at the Rio Games _ two golds, a silver and a bronze in her first and only Olympics _ was planning to start a job with a management consulting firm on Sept. 9.
But her agents released a statement Wednesday saying she won't begin work at McKinsey & Company until January.

DiRado's plans have long been to retire after the Olympics, travel a bit with her husband, and then put her Stanford management and engineering degree to work.
Now some other tasks have popped up, somewhat understandably, including a media tour in New York next week.
