Nick Symmonds is making the most of a disspaointing turn of events.
The 800-meter runner had to pull out of the Olympic Trial because of an injured left ankle.
That means no Rio for him.
But Symmonds still plays to be visible at Eugene's Hayward Field, promoting his Run Gum company and calling attention to his cause: He's encouraging fellow athletes and fans to wear black tape to prostes the restricitions placed on what logos athletes can wear.
Oh, and he's enjoying being a fan, too, by the looks of it:
